"Books are the plane, and the train, and the road. They are the destination, and the journey. They are home."
- Anna Quindlen

Reading progress update: I've read 68 out of 285 pages.

Lady Chatterley's Lover - D.H. Lawrence

So far this is not nearly as smutty as I would have expected, given its reputation.  There is a lot of fucking, and a lot of talking about fucking, but it's all sort of... theoretical, or at least tastefully described.  I hear it gets more vulgar later on, though.

In any case, I actually am kind of enjoying it.  I picked it up as part of my "50 Cult Novels" project, and really wasn't sure what to expect (except enough smut to get it banned for 30 years, I guess). But I'm finding the social commentary pretty interesting, and the characters are well drawn.  There's much more here than just shock value.
