"Books are the plane, and the train, and the road. They are the destination, and the journey. They are home."
- Anna Quindlen
First audio read of 2014. I normally listen to nonfiction - I'm not sure why, but my brain seems better able to process "light" nonfiction than anything else in an audio format. But there have been exceptions - The Magicians, The Remains of the Day, and Eifelheim were all spectacular audio fiction reads.
It's been awhile since I've read any Barker - not since Imajica about five years ago, and he's really hit or miss for me. Plus, this is my longest audiobook attempt to date - about 24 hours! - so we shall see how it goes. But January would be the best time to lose myself in something sprawling and fantastical. Gotta pass these endless nights somehow.
