"Books are the plane, and the train, and the road. They are the destination, and the journey. They are home."
- Anna Quindlen
I've had a long, long day of flying, most of which I spent diligently finishing up The World Without Us, despite having long ago lost interest in it. Then I started Pride and Prejudice, and so far it's done a much better job of holding my attention. With everything that's gone wrong with this trip so far, at least I brought the right book to distract me from it all.
So I'm a bit late getting started on the group read, but I'm glad to be on board. I've never read Austen before! I am a little surprised how much I'm digging it, even all the dancing and pianoforte playing and incessant gossipmongering.
PS Darcy is an a-hole!
